OPERA MASTER SAVANNA FOUNTAIN PEN
The Visconti Limited Edition Opera Master Savanna features a gorgeous semi-transparent resin with beautiful swirls of yellow, brown, cream, and white, complemented by palladium trim. This Opera Master Savanna is limited to only 888 total fountain pens, each individually numbered. It uses an oversized 18kt white gold nib made in-house, closes via the 'hook safe lock', and fills via the double reservoir power filler.
 
We do our best to photograph the pens to show how they will appear in person, but due to the nature of the material there will be some variation in the pattern seen here. This adds an element of uniqueness to the pen, with no two patterns being exactly the same.
 
The Opera Master Savanna transports the pen collector to the fascinating landscapes of the African savanna, where lions, zebras, and elephants roam in the wild. The savanna landscape changes with the passing of the seasons, from the dry heat of the plateaus to the wet rain of the tropics. The predominantly yellow shades of the dry season shift into thousands of brown hues typical of the rainy season. These two seasons come together in harmony and are united not only in the heart of Africa, but as well in the barrel and the cap of the new Opera Master Savanna.
 
This is an exceptional fountain pen featuring the many patented innovations favored and sought out by Visconti collectors:

'Double Reservoir' Power Filler: A vacuum filling system that is easy to use and has considerable benefits. Patented in 1998, this is arguably the most advanced filling system ever developed in fountain pen history. The user is able to fill the pen with the equivalent of 10 cartridges of ink, and thanks to the two reservoirs, prevents ink from leaking during air travel.

'Hook Safe Lock': This revolutionary closing system is very satisfying to operate and was created to lock the pen body into the cap to prevent the possibility of the pen accidentally unscrewing and leaking inside a pocket or bag.

After more than 30 years of continuous research to perfect the design and engineering of writing instruments, Visconti is proudly announcing a new in-house nib completely designed and made by the Visconti team. This means the production of the entire nib unit: the feed, the nib housing and the nib itself. This important step will allow Visconti to fully customize and complete the in-house production of every Visconti pen. Bringing to the collector a complete 'Made in Florence' writing experience.

In 1998, Visconti applied for the Italian patent for its Double Reservoir Power Filler, a unique filling system that allows a massive ink capacity and safe usage during air flights. Similar in operation to vacuum-filling pens (such as the larger Visconti Homo Sapiens), the Opera Master fills with a 3.4ml ink capacity in the sealed ink reservoir. Unique to this design, there is a second reservoir in between the vacuum seal and the pen’s feed that holds about 0.6ml, the size of a typical standard international short cartridge. Effectively, what you end up with here is the ink equivalent of a standard international cartridge that you can use to write (without having to unscrew the filler knob like you do with most other vacuum-fillers), with the contents of an entire pack of cartridges (or the entire Visconti Traveling Inkwell!) in the back of your pen.
