This Platinum fountain pen's name “BISO” comes from the Japanese words “ 美 (beauty)” and “ 奏 (harmony),” romanized to express the wish that users can beautifully express themselves through writing, bringing calm and clarity to their minds. This fountain pen is designed to be a comfortable writing companion during your personal moments. Compared to Platinum's standard model (#3776 Century), the body is lighter and features a slim diameter that fits comfortably in the hand, resulting in a light and smooth writing experience.
 
The body is made from a red pearlescent resin, which reveals subtle shifts in color depending on the angle and lighting. It comes with a smooth writing gold-plated steel nib and a Platinum ink cartridge (converter sold separately). We noticed when writing with it that this nib has more drag than most other nibs, so it will not glide as smoothly. It's not scratchy, it is just ground to a rougher finish. It works great for writers who really want to feel the paper under their nib. If you prefer smoother nibs, you should probably sit this one out.
