Aurora Ancient Maps Fra Mauro
 
The second map in Aurora’s Ancient Maps collection pays tribute to the famed 1450 map by Fra Mauro, housed in Venice’s Marciana Library. This masterpiece represents a pivotal moment in cartography, bridging medieval worldviews and the dawn of modern exploration. It is the last great map of the Middle Ages before the age of discovery reshaped our understanding of the world.
 
The Fra Mauro fountain pen features a striking beige and blue marbled Auroloide body, complemented by sterling silver (925‰) trims. It is fitted with an 18kt solid gold nib, rhodium-treated for durability and elegance. Special details include an armillary sphere on the cap and a wind rose at the base, both crafted in solid 925‰ silver. Limited to just 680 pieces.
 
To further immerse collectors in the art of exploration, Aurora has designed a tactile sleeve with raised details, allowing the journey of past explorers to be traced by touch—even with closed eyes.
